Yesterday we changed the page in the Audubon folio from the Sandhill Crane to the Double-Crested Cormorant. Cormorants have been in the news lately for their threat to the Lake Erie Islands. In the photo above, Carole Camillo, Registrar, carefully turns the page. Carole wears white cotton gloves to prevent any oil or dirt rubbing off her fingers onto the paper. Each plate is protected by a sheet of acid-free tissue paper.

Tim Matson, Curator of Vertebrate Zoology, carefully lowers his side of the glass cover. Thanks Carole, Tim, Doug, and Matt from Security, for your help in keeping our Audubon display fresh!
