Library Careers Night
On March 4th I spent the evening as an exhibitor at Kent State University's Library Careers Night. I displayed information about the Harold T. Clark Library, including a wonderful Powerpoint presentation about the Library that Layne Fargo (last year's practicum student) put together for this event. My giveaways included an information sheet about Library, a brochure about the Museum, and advertisements for the current exhibit Amazing Feats of Aging and the soon-to-open exhibit on Balto. I enjoyed talking to the current and prospective students in the MLIS program, and I learned that digital libraries and digital preservation are THE hot topics. I also enjoyed meeting my fellow professionals, especially the librarians from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, who are getting ready to open their Library and Archives to the public in late 2010.
