Biodversity Heritage Library

The Biodiversity Heritage Library is a consortium of natural history and botanical libraries that cooperate to digitize and make accessible the legacy literature of biodiversity held in their collections and to make that literature available for open access as part of a global “biodiversity commons.” BHL is a very useful tool for finding old scientific literature.
We recently entered into an agreement with BHL to make the Museum's original scientific publication series, Scientific Publications of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, available online via the Biodiversity Heritage Library. This publication series includes Measurements of Birds, by Samuel Prentiss Baldwin, published by the Museum in 1931 and still in use by scientists today.
You can find the list of our publications here. We will continue to work with BHL to make other Museum titles available in the future. Thanks to our collaboration with the Biodiversity Heritage Library, the Museum's own publications can now join the ranks of some of the world's most important scientific literature.

In other BHL news, I was recently featured in a post on the BHL blog about how I use the Biodiversity Heritage Library in my daily job as the CMNH Librarian!  Check it out, and don't hesitate to contact me if you would like tips on searching and using BHL.
